My three favourite pictures from a beautiful pictorial for the latest edition of W Magazine. Hard to believe that the girls are only 13 and 17, right? I’m sure this will fuel the recent controversy about sexualising children. Dakota’s perfume advertisement for Marc Jacobs was recently banned in the UK for doing just that. How are your feelings on that?
But is it sexualizing the children if they don’t look like children or think about that when you see them? It’s all very interesting. Vice versa, there can be in pornography over 18 year olds that look like they’re under 18. Then again, a 13 year old is not exactly a child anymore… Not an adult surely either.
What I feel is more “shocking” is that a magazine, while imposing with their imagery the heterosexual norm and an idealized womanhood (and through that also idealized manhood), is doing so with the use of so young people. At the same time it almost feels like a commentary: the young are very early put to the same kinds of molds and under same kind of expectations and norms that we adults often feel tight and stressing, but nevertheless expect everyone to follow.
Jeg syntes det ville være synd hvis der nu skulle sådan en diskussion op i medierne igen. Den fotoserie som blev vist i Vogue, af Thylane Léna-Rose Blondeau, var “sexualizing chilren”.
Dakota er jo 17 så hende kan man ikke rigtig snakke om som et “barn” længere in my opinion, men Elle på 13 ser jo faktisk ældre ud end Dakota, og jeg syntes måske mere det er ligesom når man bruger unge modeller, som ikke ligner børn. Fx Lindsey Wixson.
Hun er også 16/17 og altså også model.
Der snakker man jo ikke rigtig om det. Når nu at Dakota og Elle Fanning ikke ligner børn klædt ud som sexede voksne.
Det er bare 2 pæne søskende, i en mode fotoserie, og jeg syntes også mere at disse billeder er inspirerende og smukke, i forhold til at være sexede.
Hvis det giver nogen mening hvad jeg siger XD
